I just got an awesome e-mail from Andrew at Kent State University. He wanted to share a new way of teaching music with technology: "It has been proven that music in the classroom is a powerful learning tool, aiding in everything from memory to SAT scores. Technology, such as the iPad, is helping to pave the way to a resurgence in music education and provide new, cost effective tools that all classrooms can utilize. We created this infographic to focus attention on the importance of music."

I found a cool site with resources for teaching Music History at home. My favorite is the Hallelujah Handel. The site says, "In 1750, George Frideric Handel gave musical history's greatest gift - his Messiah - to an orphanage in London. From that city's dark lanes comes Thomas, a boy who sings like an angel but will not speak. Finally the boy is healed with the help of Maestro Handel, Katarina (from Vivaldi's Ring Of Mystery) and the power and glory of the music. Includes more than two dozens excerpts of Handel's music, including the Sarabande in D minor, Water Music, Music for the Royal Fireworks, Arrival of the Queen of Sheba, Harp Concerto, oratorios, operas, and of course, Messiah."

I just love how he recently put some of his painting processes on his Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/nathan.greene.12?fref=ts I opened my Art Gallery and studio on Aug. 31, 2013. It is right across from City Hall in downtown Fountain, CO. I currently have 3 artists on display and am always looking for new artists. Our place is called "God's House of Vision", because I want to focus on God and His Glory. I want the artwork to reflect that as well: paintings/sculptures depicting Bible stories, Jesus, Miracles, etc. as well as nature and landscapes revealing God's Glory through His creation.
Not only do I use this place as an art gallery, but also as my studio and store: I sell art supplies, various crafts and cards made by my nieces and nephews, I give art lessons, as well as flute and oboe lessons. My husband is an evangelist and street preacher. We also use this place as a ministry house. We have prayer meetings, live music nights, and bible studies, as well as just wanting to be a 'hang out' place for the local people - especially on live music nights. We have some that just come in to do their own art work and socialize. Since we are a non-profit ministry, we are always in need of financial support! Please contact us if you would like to support us, or just go to the 'PayPal' link on our website: http://sonstoglorymenofthunderministries.org The three artists I currently have paintings on display: Kang Lee Sheppard Reveille Kennedy Nicholle Hayes, our 20 year-old niece who is just getting started displaying her artwork. Of course, I am always painting something new: http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/robertahayes.html Colorado is rich with artists! Check out the art scene in Old Colorado City in Colorado Springs: http://www.aratiartists.com/index.html Kang Lee Sheppard and Reveille Kennedy are two that are featured in my Art Gallery:
